When Beau arrived at the stable with her dam, the young filly charged off of the trailer and it took a while for the staff to catch her. In this moment, she showed exactly how things were going to be - challenging. As she grew, she stopped darting and instead started using her size to intimidate. She knows just how big she is, and she knows how to use it. As a result, only the most experienced of the stable staff work with her. She is no different with other horses. In the pasture, she is the boss and she's not afraid to put other horses in their place. More than once she has nipped, kicked, and bullied a horse who has tried to get above her in the pecking order and so her pasture pals are chosen very carefully. But what Beau really likes to do is run. She has fire and undying spirit. Once she is on the track she is focused, ready, and her energy directed to making the world see just how perfect she really is.
Beau breaks quickly and flies to the front of the field, preferring a quick pace, although she isn't about to fly off the handle and throw everything away at the start of a race and will pull behind a horse who does. Everything is dictated, she isn't easily pressured and she holds well even under duress. Typically she holds a good speed throughout the race but always has more to give in the closing stages - a kick, to help keep her ahead, and a spirit which won't see her slowing when the contest is still ongoing.
