The Basics
Registered Name: Head Trip
Year of Birth: Y16
Height: 17.1hh
Color: Chestnut
Gender: Stallion
Sire: Anodyne
Dam: Eternal Phantom
This colt very much lives up to his namesake. Trip takes a little after his sire, as he can be a hot head at times. There is no doubt that he loves to race, but sometimes he just wants to be a handful. He also has his dam in him, he's sharp and cunning. He's a great looker, and surprisingly enough he's usually well behaved around children. Trip will even give you kisses, if he's in the mood for it! However, even though he can be a handful and be sweet, he still has his vices. The main one he tends to bite when he's crowded. He likes his space, so you can't let a huge amount of people surround him. He also tends to not move when he's mad at you, which can be a pain when he's being stubborn. He can also get mad in general for not letting him have his way and making him wait.
But even with those quirks, he has tons of energy and he loves to use it. He's not much on the whole saving your energy until later thing. I also wouldn't take him on a trail ride, if you know you're going to be waiting on someone. However though, even while being stubborn, his stomach is his weakness. Shake the feed bucket or offer him a treat and you can usually find some motivation suddenly appearing within the chestnut's actions. We're sure in thinking that he'll become great, not because of his lines.... because he doesn't put on an act for anyone. Besides he's stubborn as hell, he won't go down without a fight!
Trip is known for his high energy and quirkiness, but that's what makes him such a great racehorse. He creates a lively and animated presentation in the post parade. He is a handful and nothing about him is calm and placid. Some people think that this might mean he's washed out, but that just isn't the case. He just likes to work out his jitters. Once loaded into the gates, he's all business, but he can't wait for those gates to open. As soon as those gates open, Trip is flying. He breaks pretty fast and depending upon the field and his mood, will either settle in the lead or stalk the leaders. With the end in sight, however, he will take off like a bullet and run on all heart and stubbornness if need be to reach the finish first.
