To say that Tala has been spoiled might be a bit of an understatement - as the daughter of a horse which Alexia worked with as a jockey, she has been doted on throughout her young life. All of this has resulted in a pampered princess - a filly who is much happier in the stall getting bathed or groomed, in the company of people, than out in the pasture with other horses and certainly doesn't seem to enjoy the idea of being a horse at all. In fact, she has little interest in other horses and when out in the pasture just spends her time walking the fence looking for attention. But with people she is incredibly affectionate and enjoys every moment of attention she can get - and particularly enjoys licking at hands.
In hand, she is both gentle and respectful. Being pampered meant she got more than sufficient training from a young age and she doesn't crowd or pull too much. Instead, she listens to instructions and shows a great eagerness to please. She is definitely flamboyant and has been known to pose for cameras or walk in a very exaggerated manner just to try and get more praise. In short, this is a very dependable horse, and she will always do her best.
Tala's eagerness to please and high obedience makes her a lovely, versatile ride. She is calm before a race, loads with relative ease, and breaks at a good pace. Tala is not one darting straight to the front of the field, often ending up somewhere in the middle of the field at the start of the race, and from there relies on prompts from her jockey. The key is to not let her forget her competition - keeping her neither too far ahead, nor allowing her to lag behind - otherwise she can run anywhere with general ease. Tala has a strong heart, in the final stretch she will give her all, utilising everything she has and unwilling to ease away from a challenge.
