Pardon My French - an apologetic name for an unapologetic horse. Frenchie likes to have his way all the time. When not able to get his way, French throws a temper tantrum of epic proportions, literally sulking and ignoring all attempts to get him to do what his humans want him to do - or at least, as a younger horse that's what he did. Now, as an older horse, Frenchie doesn't throw "temper tantrums" - he'll just sulk and drag his hooves as he does what you wanted him to do in the first place. Frenchie typically has a kind eye and relaxed nature in the barn, but is an absolute mule when in a stubborn mood. Frenchie is a horse that naturally endears himself to you - he is the adorable horse sprawled across his straw bedding as though he needs every inch of space to get a good rest. He loves being scratched behind the ears while laying down. This horse is typically easy to handle and gets along with everybody, but doesn't handle exposure to extremely busy environments for long periods of time very well. This is the horse that appreciates the quiet life - if left alone and given plenty of relaxation time, he will happily do as you ask. Disturb him for long periods of time, though, and you've got a horse that will make you work for every inch.

French is the kind of horse that loves to run and takes racing seriously. The minute he enters the paddock, you can detect a new energy around the bay; he'll perk up slightly and put some pep into his step as though he knows something big is happening. He handles busy environments, but after the first twenty minutes he will act up unless his ears are stuffed to block out the noise. He is a powerful horse that can put up a massive fight if bothered, so it is important that he be ridden by a calm, gentle-handed jockey; Sam Johnston beyond fit the bill. Frenchie is a professional if kept relaxed and bounces out of the gate once released. He likes to lead but will settle off the pace if it's very quick up front, always alongside a quick leader but accepting second or third as necessary. Once in front, he waits on his competition and will gradually accelerate as they do, exhibiting fantastic reaction time when doing so. When asked to go and when challenged, Frenchie digs deep and will give it his all, never going down without a fight.
