If you are looking for some slender beauty of a thoroughbred filly, you are probably looking in the wrong place. Wisp is built heavier than typical of fillies, with a broad chest and strong legs which will be a benefit on the track but not about to win her any beauty competitions. She is full of energy and life, happiest out in the paddock and just being a horse - bucking, running around and making the most of her freedom. She's not a submissive thing though, and tends to put others in their place if they try to boss her around. In hand, Wisp is tolerable and will respect her handlers most of the time. But she can get frisky and forget herself, especially if she becomes excited or she sees her nemesis - the vet.

Her energy on the ground translates in the saddle. She's frisky and ready to go, often getting a little worked up before a race. For this reason, the team do everything to try and keep her focussed on them rather than the crowd and other horses prior to a race. It took a while for her to be comfortable in the gate, and she can sometimes fight it a little, but once the gate opens she is in her element. Wisp loves racing, but due to her tendency to get carried away is best placed behind another horse or two and held back until the later stages of the race. She isn't afraid to take a bump or two in a race, and once let run in the final stages is a real trier. She wants to be at the front, and she will do what she can to get there.
